Just a couple months ago, Skyfire has decided to expand its services and provide with an opportunity to download mobile web browser for people outside the U.S.
Well, it appears that company is backing up this decision. Starting from tomorrow (July 1, 2010), Skyfire will stop supporting countries other than UK, USA and Canada.
Users from other countries will receive the following message:
If you don’t feel like waiting for the final Firefox 4 release (which does have tabs on top), there is a simple add-on, that provides you with the very same feature for Firefox 3.0 – 3.7a4pre web browsers.
In addition, it also supports Firefox 3.6 Personas, therefore, you shouldn’t experience any distortions while using.
US Bank Chase has decided to stop supporting Opera and Chrome web browsers, implying security issues and low popularity.
Therefore, people who use browsers other than: Internet Explorer 6.0 and higher, Firefox 2.0 and higher or Safari 3.0 and higher (for Mac systems only), may not be able to access Chase web site.
• Internet Explorer 9 vs. Google Chrome 6 (HTML5 Performance)
In rather pointless benchmark, DownloadSquad has tested latest Internet Explorer 9 build against Google Chrome 6 dev.
After dozens of daily/weekly builds, Opera 10.60 has reached RC quality and was released by Opera Software earlier today.
As you might expect, it focuses on web browser polishing, stability and over improvements.
Mozilla has recently released an update for Firefox 3.6 branch that increases plugin hang detector timeout.
Instead of terminating non responsive plugin after 10 seconds (which is way too low), it will now wait for a total of 45 seconds.
You may also increase or decrease value by modifying dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs attribute in Firefox config.
Thanks to beelzebub360 and Jeff Vann for the news tip.
Now, if you are receiving “Unable to initialize camera. Failed to set up the camera device” error on your HTC device (possibly any other Windows Mobile phone) and had no luck with soft reset, try the following:
Open task manager and make sure that Opera Mobile is not running, and close if it is. Now, I am not sure why it’s impossible to take pictures or record videos while you surf the net with Opera Mobile (as it makes very little sense), but here you have it, a quick and painless fix.
