Microsoft’s Gazelle Browser: A Layperson’s Explanation

Microsoft Research has published a new article that explains in more layperson-like terms exactly what its “Gazelle” Web browser is and why the company’s researchers believe it’s needed.

Microsoft is slated to present a paper on Gazelle at the Usenix Security Symposium in August. At that event, the Gazelle team will describe “the design and construction of a browser that is actually a multi-principal operating system.”

Google Adwords now Supports Firefox 3.5With the release of Firefox 3.5, people started to see the following message when opening Google Adwords interface with the latest browser version:

“Support for Firefox 3.5 is coming soon. Until then, please use an earlier version of Firefox when viewing the new interface.”

Fortunately, the issue has been finally fixed and everything works like a charm again.

Internet Explorer vs. Firefox vs. Chrome vs. Safari vs. OperaAdrian Kingsley Hughes from ZDNet has benchmarked Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5 and 3.0, Safari 4, Opera 10 (alpha!) and Chrome 2.0 browsers using SunSpider, V8 benchmarks.

Chrome 2 wins in both benchmarks which is followed by Safari 4. In the V8 benchmark suite however, other web browsers lag behind by up to 36 times.
